# Service & Guardian User Link Expiry Times


### Overview

There are 2 types of Users for Xap:

1. **Service** - Staff using the Xap or Connect App programs
2. **Guardians & Carers** - Using the Guardian Web Portal and Smile App.


### Service - Link Expiry details:

| Email | Expiry |
| ---- | ---- |
| **New Staff Account Activation - Initial welcome/activation email** | Link will not become expired until clicked and password is created. |
| **Service manually resending Staff/User Resend Password** | Link will not become expired until clicked and password is created. |
| **Staff selecting Forgot Password option on app or Web portal** | Link will expire in **30 minutes** of getting created. |
| **User Active in one Organisation and is added to another Organisation (user will receive an Accept new Role email)** | 72hr expiry from notification being sent. |
| **User not Active in one Organisation and is added to another Organisation (user will receive an Activate Account)** | Link will not become expired until clicked and password is created. |


### Guardians & Carers - Link Expiry details:
