CCSS Yearly CAP Changes 10th December 2021

The Department of Education, Skills & Employment (DESE) are making changes to the Child Care Subsidy (CCS). They will be removing the annual cap for all Families who receive CCS.

Overview

CCSS previously had CAPS per Financial Year, each Financial Year, Families/Children receive a CAP for what can be claimed.

  • YTD CAP - This determines how much CCS can be paid to a Service to offset the GAP the family is liable to pay.

Annual cap changes

Currently Families earning more than $190,015 (2021–22 terms) have an annual subsidy cap of $10,655 per child each financial year.

The CCS Financial year to date CAP will now be removed as of the 10th December 2021 for all Families who receive CCS.

It will be backdated to the start of the 2021-22 financial year.

Note: If a family has already reached the CCS annual cap before 10 December their CCS may have stopped. Services Australia will automatically reassess their CCS entitlement for this time. They will back pay CCS for affected sessions of care.
