QLD Kindergarten Funding - QGrants Results (LDC)


This article will assist you with querying and understanding the QLD Kindergarten funding results from QGrants.


Overview


From 2023, the QLD Government is making changes to the Kindy funding. Kindergarten at both sessional kindergarten and long day care services in Queensland may be free for children who are experiencing vulnerability and/or disadvantage.


The new funding scheme will replace the current Queensland Kindergarten Funding Scheme. See: QLD Kindergarten Funding Essentials LDC and QLD Kindergarten Funding Essentials Sessional Kindergartens


Key Items to ensure have been completed prior to querying your Results


  1. API Credentials have been added see: Registering your QLD Kindergarten API credentials
  2. Addresses have been added into the Child details section for each child (this will not populate from the address in the Guardian details) see: Adding Child Address Information
  3. Any additional funding questions have been captured e.g. FTB A/B, Multiple Birth etc.
  4. Kindergarten programs have been created commencing from Q1 see: Creating a Kindy Program) with correct Teacher information including Qualification status
Note, an Acquittal needs to contain all programs that have been approved for operation by QGrants. This include programs that may not be running due to a lack of enrolments or qualified teacher. In this scenario, you will need to submit a blank program to QGrants. Please see the guide for Setting up a blank Acquittal or Forecast for submitting to QGrants
  1. Attendances have been re-synced on the Kindy programs to ensure all the required children are added to the Kindy program
  2. Public Holidays have been actioned see: Settings - Holidays & Exceptions
  3. Attendances have been marked for the Kindy children see: Managing Incomplete Attendances
  4. An Acquittal for the prior period has been successfully submitted see: Submitting a QLD Kindergarten Acquittal


Querying Results


You can query for both Forecasts and Acquittals.

The Querying of your Acquittals will allow you to view the Funding information for the Service as well as per child.


  1. Select the Bookings & Attendances screen
  2. Select the Kindy Subsidy screen on the top toolbar
  3. Select the Forecast Tab



  1. Select the 3dot menu
  2. Select Query Results from the drop-down menu
Note: The Acquittal must be in the status of Submitted to allow the results to be queried.



If the Acquittal has been finalised by QGrants, the status will update to Processed. If it is still processing you will see the message Results are not Available.


Viewing Acquittal Results


Once the Acquittal status has changed to Processed you will be able to view the payment results.


Note: The payment results displayed on the Acquittal Results Summary will not be automatically adjusted onto the Family Balances. All QLD Kindergarten Funding credits are managed by the Service as Credits* or **Debits if any adjustments are required. The payment amounts to be added or adjusted on the balances is a Service decision.


  1. Select the Results Tab



  1. Select the 3 dot next to the Acquittal you would like to view the details for
  2. Select View from the drop-down menu



Acquittal Results Summary


The Acquittal Results Summary page will display:

  1. Acquittal Information
  2. Service Summary
  3. Child(ren) Summary




Section 1 - Centre name


This section will display:

  • Centre name
  • Kinder Type - either Long Day Care or Sessional
  • Result Type - Acquittal
  • Year - Year the Acquittal is for
  • Period - Displays either the Quarter (LDC) or Semester (Sessional)

Section 2 - Service Summary


This section will display the breakdown of the information paid to the Service.

Number of full time equivalent enrolments across the service

d. Total Payment ($)

Total amount to be paid - net position if service is owed additional funding which will be paid

Amount not recouped

f. Total Owing ($)

Total amount owed - net position if service owes amount, to be offset against future forecast amount


Prior ($) - The amount received from the Forecast

Actual ($) - After it’s been acquittal the actual amount that they are entitled to based on the acquittal

Acquittal ($) - The difference between forecast (prior) vs acquitted (Actual)

Section 3 - Child(ren) Summary


This section will display the breakdown of the information paid per Child.

Prior ($) - The amount received from the Forecast

Actual ($) - After it’s been acquitted the actual amount that they are entitled to based on the acquittal

Acquittal ($) - The difference between forecast (prior) vs acquitted (Actual)

Name of the child/ren linked to the period

b. Full Time Equivalent

How much funding you have been providing for that child for the whole period, 1.00 = full Base Subsidy

c. KFS Eligible

Yes or No for KFS eligibility IF no then it will display all 0.00 across all columns

d. Affordability Kindy Plus Prior ($)

Amount of Affordability FTB A and/or B funded previously for period

e. Affordability Kindy Plus Actual ($)

Actual amount of Affordability FTB A and/or B calculated

f. Affordability Kindy Plus Acquittal ($)

Amount of Affordability FTB A and/or B adjustment for this acquittal

g. Affordability FTB Prior ($)

Amount of Affordability FTB A and/or B funded previously for period

h. Affordability FTB Actual ($)

Actual amount of Affordability FTB A and/or B calculated

Whether there is any difference between any of the columns whether QGrants will recoup this amount for the child.

k. Payment Not Recouped ($)

Technically the service owes the Govt but they aren’t going to recoup, may be recouped in a future forecast/acquittal
