How is CCS Calculated

How is CCS Calculated

This article will assist you with understanding how CCS is calculated for your Families.

Basic CCS Calculation

Hourly Rate of the Service/Maximum CCS hourly rate x Session hours x CCSS percentage x withholding = CCS

Total Fees - CCS = GAP

Maximum Hourly Rates

CBC Hourly rate for the 2022/2023 financial year: $12.74

OSHC Hourly rate for the 2022/2023 financial year: $11.15

Why can CCS Differ between Estimated CCS to Paid CCS?

Differences can occur for a few different reasons:

Scenario 1

The sessions are estimating at the current CCS% and Hours, however CCS have new information that will be reflected on finalised sessions.

If the CCS% or Hours is lower than when estimated, the GAP will go up. This will add a debit onto the Account as the Family will need to pay more to cover the invoice period.

If the CCS% or Hours are higher than when estimated, the GAP will go down. This could add a credit onto the Account if the Family has paid in Advance.

IF session hours > entitled hours THEN CCS hours = eligible hours

IF session hours <= entitled hours THEN CCS hours = session hours

Total fees / session hours = hourly rate

IF hourly rate <= maximum hourly rate cap THEN CCS hourly rate = hourly rate

IF hourly rate > maximum hourly rate cap THEN CCS hourly rate = maximum hourly rate cap
