Journey Module Explained

With Xap, childcare centres are able to create a suitable program plan for their rooms/centre. Program planning is an ongoing process that the educators create for rooms/centre to set up a suitable program that meets the needs and interests of the children. Educators are able to access and plan these learning experiences based on what they observe about the individual children and link to the EYLF and NQS as a process of professional observation, planning and evaluation used by early childhood educators to assist in developing high quality early childhood education programmers for children.

Educators are able to Create an Experience that reflects on the program plan. Xap allows educators to create experiences within the rooms in order to extend thinking, problem-solving skills and language development, build close and respectful relationships, support well-being and a sense of belonging, encourage children's independence and autonomy and more. Learning experiences occur over a period of time and involve a whole series of different learning elements and learning experiences involving different methods and channels. This information can then serve as the starting point for designing the learning journey.

** Observations ** will allow educators to create learning journeys which enable staff to keep track of a child's development, link it to areas of the EYFS and use your knowledge, as well as information from parents and other relevant professionals to plan activities. In early years circles, the term learning journeys, (sometimes referred to as learning journals) refers to a collection of different documents collected by early years practitioners that provide a picture of a child's development under the areas of learning identified in the EYFS.

With Xap, educators can create a good observation that is factual, accurate and sufficiently detailed. Having access to this software on a tablet in the room with you can really help you capture moments as they happen with accurate details rather than relying on recall at the end of the day, once the children have left the service.

Xap allows staff to choose one or two group Goals and learning intentions, based on an EYLF Learning Outcome, as a broad focus for their planning and to create them. These goals take account of the context of children's lives and of the community.
