Smile App - Authorising Medication Administered by the Service
This article will assist you with viewing and authorising medication that has been administered by the Service for your child.
Overview
The Smile App for Guardians & Carers allows you to authorise administered medication to your child by the Service. You will receive a notification that a New Medication Request has been added for your child.
Viewing the Notification
- Log into the Smile APP

- Select the Bell icon

Any new Notifications will be displayed. The New Medication Request will display:
- Staff members name who created the Medication report
- Name of your child that the Medication was for
- Actions required by you eg. View and Acknowledge
- Date and time the Report was created

Viewing the Medication
You can view the Medication report in 2 ways:
- via the Notification message or
- via the Medication & Incidents Screen
via the Notifications Message screen
- Select the Medication Notification message

You will be directed to the selected Medication report. This will allow you to:
- View the time it was administered by staff
- The dosage amount. eg. 2.5mls
- The way the dosage was administered eg. oral
- Any notes the staff may have added
- Show More to view further details

- Select Authorise to approve the Medication or Reject.

- Select to Authorise this Medication

via the Medication & Incidents screen
- Select the 3 line menu icon

- Select the Medications & Incidents Option

You will be directed to the Medications & Incidents Screen, to the Medications Tab
If you would like to view the information first:
- Select the name of your child for the required Medication report.
This will follow the process as per viewing via the Notifications bell.

To Authorise straight away:
- Select the Authorise option.

- Select Authorised Guardian

- Select the Guardian who is Authorising/Signing the report.

- Select the Guardian Signature section

- Sign the report
- Select Use

- Select Submit

The Service will receive a notification regarding the medication report being acknowledged.
You will be able to view the Medication statuses:
- Pending - Medication hasn't been administered by the Service
- Administered - The Medication has been administered by the Service
- Not Administered - The Medication has not been administered by the Service
