Connect App - Viewing Medications to be Administered
This article will assist you with viewing and recording Medications for Children at your Service, using the Xap Connect App.
Overview
The Connect App allows you to create, view and manage Medication details for children at your Service.
The Medications & Incidents Screen allows you to:
- Note Medications that have been administered to the children
- Record guardian authorisation signatures
- Send notifications of administered medications to guardians
- View prior medication forms
- Create Injury/ Incident/ Traumas & Illness records
- Record guardian, staff & witness signatures
Viewing Medications to be Administered
To record and advise a guardian that medication has been administered:
- Log into the Connect App using your email address and password

- Select the Menu icon on the bottom right hand side

- Select Medications & Incidents

You will then be able to view the Medications to be administered by Date. Filters can also be used to refine the information further as required.
Marking Medication as Administered
- Select the tick next to the child's medication request

The Medication screen will display:
- Name of medication
- Time medication is to be administered
- Dosage amount
- How the medication is to be administered eg. Orally
- Any notes that may have been added regarding administering the medication (may have come from the guardian)
- Show More - allows you to see any other dates or times the medication is to be administered.

Authorisations
- Select the Administered Time
- Select the Staff member who administered the medication
- Staff Member signs

- Select the Staff Member who witnessed the medication being administered
- Witness can sign

- Add any notes regarding the medication
- Select if you would like to send a notification to the guardian that the medication has been administered
- If you select YES to notify guardians, select the guardian/s to send the notification to
- Select Submit

The Green tick and *Red X will be removed once a medication has been marked as administered or not administered.
The Pending Status will also be removed, and a green tick will display to show successfully administered.

Marking Medication as Not Administered
The medication may not have been administered by the Service, for example:
- Child was away the day the medication was marked to be administered
- The child was collected before the medication time
- Expired medication
- Select the Red X next to the child's medication request

- Add a note in advising why the medication wasn't administered
- Select Yes or No to send a Notification to the Guardian/s
- If you select YES to notify guardians, select the guardian/s to send the notification to
- Select Submit
